Brain Lateralization, Meditation and the Curse of The Divided Brain

By Nora Weirenga

Brain Lateralization is the term used to explain the separation of functions between the 2 separate halves of the human brain. The left side of the brain is primarily the reasoning, cognitive, intellectual processor, while the right side is creative, inventive and provides the more intuitive, esoteric energies and dispositions.

However brain lateralization can also describe a problem: whereupon one side of the brain is dominant over the other, therefore making whole-brain thinking and reasoning unavailable and shutting us off from our astounding human potential.

With all the technology, busyness and resultant psychological activity every day in contemporary society, there is more of an inclination for folk to be predominantly left-brained. Computer use, the web, cellphones and Television all stimulate high levels of left-brain activity.

Early life trauma could lead to children being very right-brained and completely absorbed in their subjective interior world, hence a pletora of bewildering developmental conditions can occur, including ADD and Autism.

Whether an individual is essentially left-brain or right-brain dominant, if there is a serious degree of dominance of one hemisphere over the other, potentially serious problems will arise. These may show up as stress, poor coping mechanisms, poor memory or problem-solving capability, a sense of fear or uneasiness, depression, anger, or just a sense of being separate from people and existence in general.

The easiest and most effective solution for brain lateralization is by using brainwave entrainment audios such as LifeFlow Meditation to meditate deeply each day. This technology has lifted the curse of left-brain lateralization from my life and finished a long fight with chronic depression and anxiety.

Continuing

use of the LifeFlow program continues to grow my awareness, open me up, and help me to feel vitally alive and joy like I never dreamed possible.
